He graduated
with honour at the florence conservatory under the guide of Master Franco Rossi.
He has been
awarded several prizes in several national as well as international
competitions, among which Vittorio
Veneto in 1980, 1983, 1989, Fiesole "Premio Dragoni" 1985,
Milano "Interpreti d’oggi" Associazione Musicale Italiana
1986, Corsico 1988, Vercelli "G.B.Viotti" 1989.
He has played as soloist and in chamber groups in many important cities, in Italy and abroad. He has been invited as principal cello in several important orchestras: "Orchestra RAI di Torino", "Orchestra Regionale Toscana", Orchestra del Teatro "La Fenice" of Venice and the "Orchestra del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari". Since 1989 he performs as principal cello player with the famous chamber group "I Solisti Veneti". With this group he performed all over the world playng as solosit in important occasions: Teatro alla Scala e Sala Verdi di Milano, Salle Pleyel of Paris, Mozarteum of Salzburg, Wien, Lincoln Center of New York). With I Solisti Veneti he has also recorded for important companies like RCA, FREQUENZ, ERATO, in may 1996 has recorded for RAI 2 television the G.B.Platti C flat concert in Venice. Since 1995 he performs in a trio with the famous soprano Mara Zampieri, performing concerts for important festivals:Carinzia Festival, Bregenz Festival, Haydn Festival and in important concert halls: Vienna Musikverein, Eisenstadt Teatro Nacional di Lisbona. He has performed numerous radio and tele-recordings in Italy as well as abroad, for the RAI television in Italy and ORF television in Austria. He has recorded a CD with Brahms, Schumann and Debussy music for cello and piano. |
